A draft order randomizer your league can watch
Most draft lottery tools print a list. The Fastbreak draws the same random draft order and then shows it as a race: every manager gets a runner in their own jersey, they break from the baseline together, and the order they reach the rim is the order they pick in. It works for any fantasy basketball league from four to twenty teams, and because it is only a draw and a picture it works just as well for a fantasy football, baseball or hockey draft.
The draw is settled before the first step from a public randomness beacon that nobody can predict or change, so every possible order is exactly as likely as every other, nothing on the floor can change the result, and a league can schedule the draw for a set time and watch it together. Every draw comes with a replay link that runs the same race again for anyone who missed it, and the finished order copies as text to paste into a league chat. Is the draft order truly random?
Yes. The order is drawn from the drand public randomness beacon, a value published every three seconds by a group of independent organisations that nobody can predict or change, using rejection sampling so that every one of the possible orders is exactly as likely as every other. The race is then built to finish in that order. The animation is a presentation of a result that already exists, not the thing that decides it, so nothing that happens on the floor can change who picks where.
How do I prove the commissioner did not rerun the draw?
Every draw comes from the beacon's value for the minute it was run and the names typed in, so running it again inside that minute gives exactly the same order, and the result says which minute it belongs to. For a draw nobody can doubt, press Schedule for later, pick a time and share the link before it comes. Everyone who opens the link counts down together and watches the same race at the same moment, and since the beacon's value for that minute does not exist until the minute arrives, nobody, including us, can know the order in advance.
Can I use it for a fantasy football, baseball or hockey draft?
Yes. Type any set of names in and it draws an order for them. The floor is a basketball court because this is a basketball site, but the draw does not care what sport your league plays, and it works for any league from four to twenty teams.
Does it run a weighted draft lottery?
No. Every manager has the same chance at every pick. A league that weights its lottery by last season's standings needs a tool that takes odds per team, and this one deliberately does not, so nobody can be accused of putting a thumb on the scale.
Can I put photos of the managers on the runners?
Yes. Tap the circle beside a name and choose a picture, and that manager runs the floor wearing it. Photos stay in your own browser and never travel in the replay link, so a league mate opening the link sees the same race with the names and the jerseys, and the faces only if they have added them on their own device.
How do I share the draft order with my league?
Copy the order as text, or copy the replay link. The link carries the names and the race in the address itself, so nothing is stored, no account is involved, and anyone who opens it watches the same race end in the same order.
Does the draft order randomizer cost anything or need an account?
