Anthony Davis in Washington is a second-round pick in both formats, and a first-rounder if you punt threes

Anthony Davis ranks 19th on our points board under ESPN's scoring and 19th on our 9-cat board after we charge him for 21 missed games, and he climbs to 6th when threes are punted.

Anthony Davis begins his first full season in Washington after a year in which he played 20 games, none of them for the Wizards. Dallas sent him to Washington in a multi-team trade in early February while he was out with ligament damage in his left hand, as NBA.com and the Associated Press both reported, and ESPN and TSN reported that the Wizards then shut him down for the rest of the season with the aim of having him healthy for this one. He made his Washington debut in the preseason opener against the Knicks beside Trae Young and the rookie AJ Dybantsa, which Bleacher Report and Newsweek both covered, so the question for a drafter is no longer whether he is healthy in October but how much of the season he will be.

Ranks from our projections board and the analysts' consensus, updated nightly.

Our projections answer that by giving him 61 games and then pricing the other 21 at the value of a replacement-level free agent, which is how every rank below is built. Even with that charge he is 19th on our points board under ESPN's default scoring and 19th on our 9-cat board, and he is a first-round player in one specific build. This piece covers what his line looks like on a rebuilding team, why the two formats agree on him more than they do on most big men, and where he belongs in your draft.
