Kawhi Leonard in Toronto, and what it means for Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley

Our projections give Kawhi Leonard 61 games in Toronto and rank him 14th on 9-cat and 27th on points, Scottie Barnes stays a top-12 points player beside him, and Immanuel Quickley is the Raptor the analysts rank too low.

The trade that sent Kawhi Leonard back to Toronto was agreed on June 30 and completed only on September 14, after the league finished its investigation into the Clippers, as ESPN and the Boston Globe both reported. Toronto sent Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick and draft picks to Los Angeles, according to NBA.com and Bleacher Report. For fantasy managers the trade raises three separate questions: how many games Kawhi will play for a team that has already said it will manage his workload, whether Scottie Barnes loses touches to him, and what happens to Immanuel Quickley, whose role as the lead guard does not change.

Ranks from our projections board and the analysts' consensus, updated nightly.

Our projections answer each with a number. We project Kawhi for 61 games, which ranks him 14th on our 9-cat board and 27th on our points board under ESPN's default scoring, Barnes for 76 games and 10th on points, and Quickley for 68 games and 59th on 9-cat. The analysts' consensus agrees with us on Kawhi and Barnes within a few places and is lower on Quickley in both formats. Ingram's side of the trade, a partially torn Achilles that will cost him the start of his Clippers career, is covered in When to draft Brandon Ingram, Jimmy Butler and the stars who will miss months.
