Max Strus, Cam Spencer and Al Horford all sit outside the consensus top 190, and our projections rank each of them as a player worth rostering in a standard league.

Leagues are rarely won in the first three rounds, because everybody drafts roughly the same players there and the managers who reach the playoffs are usually the ones whose late picks turned into starters. That gap is what this piece is about: the players our analysts' consensus has ranked deep enough to go undrafted in most twelve-team leagues, while our own projections, which read every injury and depth chart change since the services published their lines, rank them comfortably inside the top 160 on at least one format.

Ranks from our projections board and the analysts' consensus, updated nightly.

All three were found the same way. We took every player whose consensus rank sits outside the top 115 in both points and 9-cat, and kept those our model ranks inside the top 130 on either board. Then we checked each one against the news, because a projection that has missed a trade or an injury is worse than no projection at all. One of the three is on a different team from the one our own player file lists, and we only caught it by doing that check.
