The players whose value changes most between ESPN, Yahoo and Fantrax scoring

Tyrese Haliburton is 17th on our points board under ESPN's default scoring and 37th under Yahoo's and Fantrax's, while Paolo Banchero goes the other way, from 32nd to 14th.

The three big platforms all call their default format points, but they pay for different things, and a ranking built for one of them is wrong for the other two in predictable places. ESPN pays two points an assist and four for a steal or a block, charges two for a turnover, and charges a point for every missed shot and missed free throw. Yahoo pays 1.2 a rebound, 1.5 an assist and three for a steal or a block, charges one for a turnover, and charges nothing for a miss. Fantrax's default, as our projections apply it, pays 1.25 a rebound, 1.5 an assist and two for a steal or a block, charges one for a turnover and also ignores misses.

Ranks from our projections board and the analysts' consensus, updated nightly.

The result is that ESPN rewards efficient passers and defenders and punishes high-volume scorers who miss, while Yahoo and Fantrax reward volume scoring and rebounding. We ranked our full projections under each platform's default and compared them. The table shows the players whose rank changes most, all among players in the first nine rounds on at least one platform.
