A trap is not a bad player. Every name below is a useful fantasy player at the right price, and most of them will have good seasons. A trap is a player whose price has run ahead of what he will produce, usually because the market is paying for last season's headline or a reputation built in a different role, and the cost of drafting one is not the player himself but the better player you passed on to take him.

We compared each of these five players' draft prices at the end of September with where our projections rank them, which is by value over the whole season under ESPN's default scoring for points, including the games each is projected to miss. The gaps run from about two rounds to more than four, and each has a different cause.
