The players who never miss, and why durability is underpriced

Scottie Barnes, Anthony Edwards, Amen Thompson, Derrick White and Desmond Bane are all projected for 73 games or more, and in a season-long league the games are worth almost as much as the line.

Every year the managers who win season-long leagues tend to have the same thing in common, which is that their best players played. A first-round pick who misses twenty games gives you less than a third-round pick who plays all of them, and in a rotisserie or season-points league the games a player misses are simply production you never get. Yet drafts consistently pay more for a player's ceiling than for his availability, which makes durable players one of the steadiest sources of value on the board.

Ranks from our projections board and the analysts' consensus, updated nightly.

Our projections already account for this. Every rank on our board values a player by what he gives you over the whole season, with a replacement-level free agent standing in for the games he is projected to miss. We looked for the players inside our points top 120 who are projected for the most games, and most of them rank ahead of where the consensus puts them.
